Join us at Social Capital 2026 Conference, hosted by the International Social Capital Association (ISCA), taking place at Heriot‑Watt University Dubai from March 26–28, 2026. This landmark event brings together leading scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and global changemakers to advance understanding and practice in the critical field of social capital. Expect a dynamic program of keynote addresses, oral presentations, hands‑on workshops, and vibrant networking sessions across ten thematic streams—including topics such as health, democracy, digital networks, migration, resilience, sustainability, and more. Registration fees are based on the date of receipt of payment (not the registration date). All prices are in United States Dollars (USD).

*Student registration is available for those studying and who hold a current Student Identification Card. To be eligible, you will need to upload a copy of your student ID card or a written statement from your supervisor verifying your student status during the registration process.

Virtual Registration

Social Capital 2026 will take place in person at Heriot-Watt University Dubai, and we strongly encourage everyone who is able to join us on site. Being there in person offers the richest opportunities to connect, collaborate, and fully engage in the conference experience. At the same time, we recognise that travel to Dubai is not possible for everyone. To ensure broader participation, we are hosting a dedicated virtual day immediately before the main conference. **Virtual registration provides access to the virtual day before the conference. It does not provide access to the full in-person conference program.

ISCA membership fees are structured to reflect different circumstances, including student rates and country income classifications. As a result, students and members from lower-income countries already benefit from substantially reduced fees while still enjoying the full member-only savings on registration. We also recognise that financial barriers can sometimes affect access. In keeping with our commitment to access and inclusion, additional support for virtual participation may, in some cases, be considered where genuine need is demonstrated.

Registration inclusions

Registration fees include:

  • Attendance at all conference sessions
  • Welcome reception ticket (1)
  • Morning and afternoon teas and lunches

Accommodation and travel expenses are additional to the registration fees.

Virtual registration fees include:

  • Access to the virtual day on Zoom (or suitable alternative platform to be confirmed).

When you register online, you will receive confirmation of your registration within a few minutes. You can pay your registration fees by EFT or online using MasterCard or Visa.

An invoice will be emailed to the address you supply once you’ve submitted your details and confirmed your method of payment.

Please note that registrations will not be finalised until payment in full is received.

All payments must be in United States Dollars (USD).

  • Credit card payments may be made by MasterCard or Visa. Payments will appear as Heriot-Watt University on your credit card statement.
  • EFT payments—banking details for direct deposit will be provided on your invoice. Please send your remittance to socialcapital2026@hw.ac.uk.
  • Payment is due 30 days from the date of registration or prior to the commencement of the congress (whichever is first).

If you are seeking the early registration rate, payment must be made prior to the early registration deadline.

Cancellations must be advised in writing to the conference organiser socialcapital2026@hw.ac.uk. 

If you cancel your registration:

(a) before 5 pm GST on Monday March 23, 2026, you will receive a full refund of monies paid, less a cancellation fee of USD100; 

(b) after the date referred to in paragraph (a), you have no entitlement to a refund of any amount. After this date, the organising committee will review any cancellations due to extenuating circumstances.

Registrations are transferable to a colleague at any time prior to the event, provided the conference organiser is advised in writing at socialcapital2026@hw.ac.uk.
